Short answer: there is no single number of PRP hair treatments that is right for everyone. Hair-loss pattern, underlying cause, response to treatment and the plan recommended after assessment all matter. PRP is usually discussed as a series rather than a one-time treatment, and maintenance may be considered depending on the individual.
Why the number of PRP sessions can vary
PRP uses a concentrated preparation made from your own blood and is injected into targeted areas of the scalp. The goal is not to create new hair follicles. It is generally discussed as a way to support existing follicles in appropriate candidates. That is why the first step should be figuring out what type of hair loss you are dealing with.
Someone with gradual pattern thinning may have a very different plan from someone who has sudden shedding, patchy hair loss, scalp inflammation or hair loss related to another medical issue. In some situations, a medical assessment or bloodwork may be more important than starting a cosmetic treatment.
When should you expect to notice a change?
Hair grows slowly, so PRP is not a treatment where you should judge the outcome after a few days. Changes are usually assessed over months, not days or weeks. Photos taken under similar lighting can be more useful than checking the mirror every morning.
A good treatment plan should also explain what counts as improvement. For one person, the goal may be less shedding. For another, it may be improved density or supporting hair that is becoming finer. Results vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Does more PRP mean better results?
Not necessarily. More appointments are not automatically better. Treatment frequency should be based on the clinical plan, how your scalp responds and whether PRP remains appropriate for your type of hair loss. If a clinic promises a fixed result simply because you buy a large package, that is a reason to ask more questions.
What should you ask at a PRP consultation?
Ask what type of hair loss the treatment is being used for, what realistic improvement may look like, what side effects or downtime to expect, how progress will be measured and when the plan will be reassessed. You should also mention medications, medical conditions, recent hair shedding and any scalp concerns.

iBODY Health & Wellness Clinic is located at 726 Gordon Baker Road in North York. PRP hair appointments begin with screening and a discussion of your goals and history. Booking an appointment does not guarantee that PRP will be recommended; suitability should come before treatment.
The bottom line
There is no magic session count that applies to every person. Think of PRP as a treatment plan that should be reassessed, not a one-off injection or an unlimited package. If your hair loss is sudden, patchy, associated with scalp symptoms or otherwise unexplained, medical assessment may be the better first step.
