Injectables
What Are Injectables?
When most people hear the word injectable, they typically think of dermal fillers. However, cosmetic injectables are all-encompassing and refer to every kind of anti-aging treatment administered with an ultra-fine needle. While they are all administered the same way, they accomplish different goals and have been designed to treat different areas of the face and body to both restore a youthful appearance, help with weight loss, and even help resolve health conditions.
What Are the Different Types of Injectables?
There are different types of cosmetic injectables and they all work to treat the signs of aging and improve the appearance of the face and body, but they do so in different ways. At iBody, we offer cosmetic injectables that temporarily treat and remove fine lines and wrinkles, add volume and address sagging skin, add necessary nutrients into the skin, target stubborn fat beneath the chin, and add vitamins to the body to promote optimal health.
Injections for Wrinkles: Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins are administered in an injectable form and they work by temporarily disabling the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines. This temporary muscular paralysis helps treat dynamic wrinkles by allowing the skin to relax, and when the muscles can no longer make extreme expressions or repetitive movements, wrinkles disappear.
What is Dysport?
Dysport is an injectable treatment made from botulinum toxin type A acts very similarly to Allergan Botox injection. Dysport successfully reduces the facial signs of aging by blocking the nerve signals to the facial muscles, smoothing facial wrinkles and other facial animation lines.
Who is a Dysport Candidate?
As we age, our skin undergoes several changes that increase facial wrinkles and lines. If you would like to reduce these signs of aging and appear younger than Dysport treatments are for you.
Benefits of Dysport Injections
Lasts As Long As Botox
The results of Dysport injections last for months. Results will become prominent a week after the injection and will last as long as 3 -5 months.
Reduce the Signs of Aging
Dysport is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dysport doesn’t just manage the look of existing wrinkles — it can also help prevent new ones from developing.
Little Downtime
As a nonsurgical procedure, there is little to no downtime. With Dysport, you don’t even need to take a day off. There’s virtually no recovery time required from this procedure, as it’s minimally invasive. Many undergo Dysport injections during their lunch and return to work.
Dysport over Botox?
Over the years, Botox injections can become less effective as your body creates an immune response to the toxin. Luckily, Dysport can work wonders for those suffering from Botox, as there aren’t as many proteins.
Dysport Risks
Like all procedures, Dysport comes with the risk of potential complications. IBody injectors have been performing Dysport injections for years, and the risk of a significant complication is very minimal. The following Dysport risks have been reported:
● Muscle weakness near the injection site
● Injection site reactions (bruising, bleeding, pain, redness, or swelling)
● Headache
● Muscle pain or stiffness
● Flu symptoms
● Dizziness
● Nausea
What to Expect After a Dysport Injection
You can go home or back to work immediately after Dysport injections. While you may experience slight side effects, there’s virtually no recovery time needed.
Dysport Recovery & Timeline
● Try to utilize your treated muscles for the first 30 minutes after treatment. Frowning, raising eyebrows or squinting will help work the Dysport into your muscles.
● Do not rub or massage the injection site for 4 hours after your treatment.
● Avoid facials and saunas for at least 4 hours after your treatment – this will reduce the risk of temporary bruising.
● Do not lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
● The results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Please wait until 14 days have passed to assess the results of your Botox Injectable and Dysport procedure.
