What it does

Shape and tone, not weight loss.

Body contouring targets the shape of a specific area. It is not a weight loss treatment, and it works best alongside a reasonable baseline of fitness rather than instead of one.

Muscle stimulation

Electromagnetic energy triggers muscle contractions far more intense than you could achieve voluntarily, building tone in the treated area over a short course of sessions.

Radiofrequency contouring

Targeted heating used to tighten and reshape. Non-invasive, with no cutting and typically no downtime beyond mild soreness.

Before you book

Screening matters here.

Electromagnetic muscle stimulation is not suitable for everyone, and this is one treatment where the intake questions are not a formality.

Tell us if you have

  • A pacemaker or implanted defibrillator
  • Metal implants near the treatment area
  • Any implanted electronic device
  • A current or possible pregnancy

Recovering from an injury?

We run a full rehabilitation clinic in the same building. If pain or an untreated injury is what is actually holding you back, our physiotherapists are a better starting point than a contouring session — and most extended health plans cover that side.

Common questions

Answers before you book.

What is non-invasive body contouring?

A group of treatments that reshape or tone an area without surgery or downtime — using electromagnetic muscle stimulation to contract muscle far more intensely than voluntary exercise, or radiofrequency to heat tissue in a targeted way. Nothing is cut, and you walk out and carry on with your day.

Is this a weight loss treatment?

No, and any clinic telling you otherwise is overselling. Body contouring targets shape and muscle tone in specific areas. It is not a substitute for weight loss, and it works best on people who are already reasonably close to their target weight.

How many sessions does it take?

Muscle stimulation treatments are typically done as a short course spaced days apart, with results building over the following weeks. Your practitioner sets a realistic expectation at your consultation based on the area and your starting point.

Is there any downtime?

Generally none. Some people feel muscle soreness afterwards, similar to a hard workout. You can return to normal activity the same day.

Who is not a good candidate?

Electromagnetic muscle stimulation is not suitable if you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, metal implants in the treatment area, or if you are pregnant. Tell us about any implanted device or medical condition at your consultation — this is one where the screening genuinely matters.

Is body contouring covered by insurance?

No. Body contouring is a cosmetic treatment and is not covered by extended health plans or OHIP. The rehabilitation side of our clinic is different — we direct bill most major insurers for physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy.
