How we work

Consultation first, treatment second.

Congestion, dryness, pigmentation and ageing skin all want different things. We would rather spend ten minutes working out which you actually have than sell you the treatment with the best name.

Commonly asked about

  • Cleansing & hydration facials
  • Chemical peels
  • Microneedling
  • Skin resurfacing

You will know about downtime first

Some treatments leave you fine to go back to work; others leave redness for a day or more. We tell you which before you book, so you are not planning around a surprise.

Chemical peels

Peels, in plain language.

A peel is controlled exfoliation: an acid solution lifts the outer layers of skin so fresher skin replaces them. The single most important variable is depth — and depth is a trade-off, not an upgrade.

Lighter peels

Work on the surface: texture, dullness, congestion. Little to no downtime — most people go straight back to their day, which is why these are the ones worth starting with.

Deeper peels

Reach further to address pigmentation and more established texture change, and trade that reach for visible flaking and redness over several days. We tell you exactly what that looks like before you book.

Chosen at consultation

Which acid, which strength and whether your skin should have a peel at all this month are decisions made looking at your skin — not off a menu. Enzyme treatments offer a gentler route for skin that reacts to acids.

Before your appointment

A few things that make a difference.

For active treatments we generally ask you to pause retinoids and strong exfoliants for a few days, and to keep out of the sun. You will get specific instructions when you book — and tell us about any skin sensitivity or reactions so the treatment is chosen around them.

Common questions

Answers before you book.

Which facial is right for me?

That depends on your skin and what you want to change, which is why we start with a consultation rather than a menu. Congestion, dryness, pigmentation and ageing skin all respond to different approaches, and picking by name off a price list is how people end up disappointed.

How often should I have a facial?

For most people, monthly is a sensible rhythm, since that roughly follows the skin’s renewal cycle. More intensive treatments are spaced further apart. Your practitioner will suggest a realistic schedule rather than the maximum you could book.

Will my skin be red afterwards?

It depends on the treatment. A gentle cleansing and hydration facial leaves most people fine to go straight back to their day. More active treatments such as peels or microneedling can leave redness for a day or more, and we will tell you exactly what to expect before you book, not after.

Can I have a facial if I have sensitive skin?

Usually yes, with the treatment adjusted accordingly. Tell your practitioner about any sensitivity, reactions or skin conditions at your consultation so the treatment is chosen around them.

Do I need to stop using anything beforehand?

For active treatments, we generally ask you to pause retinoids and strong exfoliants for a few days beforehand, and to avoid sun exposure. We will give you specific instructions when you book, based on the treatment.

Are facials covered by insurance?

No. Facials are cosmetic treatments and are not covered by extended health plans or OHIP. The rehabilitation side of our clinic is different — physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy are direct billed to most major insurers.
